A contract summary without a source is another assertion to verify. ClauseScout starts from the opposite premise: every extracted position must remain attached to the words, section, page and document that support it.
It turns a collection of agreements and amendments into structured findings, obligations, date events and risks. Reviewers work from priority exceptions, business owners receive concise registers, and questions return cited answers—or say plainly that the evidence was not found.
Evidence is the unit of work
Each document is divided into stable structural sections. Extraction runs are versioned, and every finding records its template question, exact quotation, page, confidence, risk level and extractor run. Reprocessing creates a new run without erasing the old one.
The useful answer is not merely plausible. It is inspectable.
Review the exceptions, preserve the original
Low-confidence and high-risk findings rise to the top of the review queue. The source passage stays beside the extracted value while the reviewer confirms it, corrects it, dismisses it with a reason, or asks for more context. Corrections never overwrite the machine extraction; both values remain in the record.

From clauses to decisions
ClauseScout converts operative language into obligation, date and risk registers. Duties identify the responsible party, action, beneficiary, trigger and due rule. Dates show renewal, notice, expiry and milestones with their derivation. Risks carry severity, recommendation, owner and disposition. Each record links back to its finding.

Questions that know their limits
The Ask workspace searches only the selected matter evidence. Its answer cites the exact findings it relies on and exposes each source passage. If no relevant evidence exists, ClauseScout returns “Not found in the selected documents.” Conflicting positions remain visible rather than being silently reconciled.
How it is built
ClauseScout uses the System32 house stack: a Go API with SQLite and a Next.js 16 / React 19 interface. The deterministic demo corpus contains six matters, 72 documents, 1,104 structural sections, 1,600 findings, 220 obligations, 150 date events, 95 risks and 24 cited answers. Tests cover review priority, corrections, dismissal reasons, grounded and no-evidence answers, readiness blockers, reprocessing history and immutable report snapshots.
